Ban on the deportation of Indian students studying in Canada
Deportation or forced repatriation of Indian students studying in Canada has been stopped. In this way, the Indian students protesting against the deportation have got a big relief. It is reported that the proceedings initiated against a student named Lovepreet Singh have been put on hold till further orders.
In fact, the Canadian Border Service Agency had ordered Singh to leave Canada by June 13, after which students in Toronto started protesting. Aam Aadmi Party MP Vikramjit Singh Sahni said on Friday that the Canadian government has decided to stop the deportation of 700 Indian students for the time being. Sahni said that the government has taken this decision after his request and the intervention of the Indian High Commission. Due to forged documents, about 700 students were facing the threat of deportation. We wrote to them and explained that these students have not committed any fraud, Sahni said.
They have become victims of fraud as some unauthorized agents have given them fake admission letters and payment receipts. Visa applications were made without verification. When the children reached there, immigration also let them in.
In the case of student Lovepreet, the authorities had found that the documents on the basis of which he had come to Canada were fake. The special thing is that most of these 700 students are from Punjab. Brijesh Mishra of Jalandhar has cheated all of them. Mishra sent them to Canada in the name of fake letters from big colleges and universities. Now the special thing is that even the embassy officials could not recognize the fake documents and showed them the way to the university.
Now when the students reached their institute, it was found that they were not even registered there. The protesting students say that Mishra made excuses in front of them and persuaded them to take admission in the university. In 2016, when students who arrived in Canada applied for citizenship, they came to know about forged documents. As the matter escalated, CBSA investigated and took action against Brijesh Mishra’s company.
